FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the 3-Month Book Blueprint?
The 3-Month Book Blueprint is a structured, collaborative coaching process designed to help you build the foundations of a fantasy novel.
Over three months, we work together to clarify your story’s direction, strengthen its structure, and develop the world and characters in a way that supports the book you want to write.
This is about clarity and coherence, not speed.
Who is this offer for?
This offer is a good fit if you:
• are serious about writing a fantasy novel
• want to develop your ideas thoughtfully before or alongside drafting
• feel overwhelmed by the elements of the craft
• want honest, professional guidance while staying in control of your story
What does the Blueprint include?
The Blueprint typically includes:
• Three monthly coaching sessions
• Guided work on plot, worldbuilding, character arcs and themes
• Support in shaping a flexible structure that fits your voice and process
• Clear summaries and next steps after each session
Exact details are agreed before we begin so expectations are clear.
Is this the same as mentorship?
No. The Blueprint is a time-limited, foundation-building process.
My Novel Mentorship Programme is ongoing and supports the writer and the novel through drafting and revision.
The Blueprint helps you know what you’re writing and why. Mentorship helps you carry it through to completion.
Do I need to have a finished draft to start?
Not at all! Writers come to the Blueprint at different stages:
• early concept
• partial drafts
• stalled or messy manuscripts
What matters is a willingness to engage seriously with the work and go deep to build a sturdy foundation for the further writing process.
Will you tell me what to write?
Never. I won’t impose formulas, rewrite your work or make decisions for you.
My role is to help you see your story more clearly, ask the right questions so you can make informed choices that serve the book you want to write.
Is this about productivity or deadlines?
No. We focus on depth, coherence, and intention; not speed, word counts or drafting challenges.
If you want strict accountability or productivity systems, we can discuss them, of course.
What kind of feedback will I receive?
You’ll receive honest, story-level feedback on:
• structure and pacing
• worldbuilding and internal logic
• character development
• thematic direction
Feedback is direct, thoughtful, and grounded in your intentions for the story.
Is this also meant to be therapeutic?
While writing can be both emotionally demanding and healing, this is professional creative coaching, not therapy or trauma processing, as I am – sadly – not a licensed therapist. However, life happens and does often inform our writing, so personal stuff will come up. As long as you are aware going into this that I’m no therapist.
What kind of commitment is required?
The Blueprint for a Fantasy Book programme is a 3-month commitment.
You’ll get the most out of it if you’re willing to engage actively with feedback and questions, and show up prepared reflect between sessions.
It can be repeated for another three months if you feel you need more foundational guidance.
What happens after the 3 months?
At the end of the Blueprint, you’ll have:
• a clearer, stronger foundation for your novel
• a sense of direction moving forward
Some writers continue into ongoing monthly coaching or mentorship. Others take what they’ve built and work independently. There is no obligation either way.
How do I know if this is right for me?
If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to get in touch and tell me about your project.
If I feel another option — such as the Mini Blueprint or written feedback — would serve you better, I’ll tell you honestly.
How do I apply?
You can apply via the interest questionnaire.
I review applications carefully to ensure the Blueprint is a good fit for both of us.
